New Jersey Print and Paper Fellowship

Since its founding in 1986, the Brodsky Center has served the New Jersey artists community through the New Jersey Print and Paper Fellowship Program. Every year, Six New Jersey artists are selected by a panel of experts to be in residence at the Brodsky Center for two weeks to create an edition in print or paper in collaboration with the Brodsky Center master printer and papermaker. Each artists receives an honorarium and half of the edition. One of the six fellows is named the Erena Rae Memorial Fellow and another the Elaine Hyman Memorial Fellow, and an extra stipend is attached to these residencies in recognition of the honor. In addition, impressions from each of the six fellows enter the permanent collections of nine New Jersey museums. The new work is exhibited annually at the Mason Gross School of the Arts galleries in addition to many other venues including exhibitions abroad. The program is supported in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. The prospectus is available in September of each year and the deadline for submission is in November with notification of awards in December. All New Jersey artists are encouraged to apply. No experience in printmaking or papermaking is necessary. Artists are encouraged to apply with images demonstrating their strongest work in any medium.
