Partnerships

The Brodsky Center often partners with other organizations, galleries, or institutions for various projects. One active form of partnership is to implement major publishing ventures. Past and present publishing partners and projects include The Feminist Art Program to publish FemFolio, a portfolio of 20 prints by women who founded the American Women's Movement in Art; Rivington Place, a new multicultural museum in London, England to publish a portfolio of artists of color, among them Chris Ofili and Carrie Mae Weems; and the Alexander Bonin Gallery to produce Willie Cole's first digital edition. A decade-long partnership with Artists Proof Studio in Johannesburg, South Africa, has resulted in a rich exchange of artists and ideas between the United States and South African artist communities. The Brodsky Center is also a founding partner, and participates actively, in Philagrafika, a collaborative organization of print shops, print departments in art schools, and museums. Philagrafika was formed to plan and mount an international festival in Philadelphia to celebrate the emergence of the printed image as a major inspiration and force in contemporary art. The first Philagrafika Festival will take place in 2010.
